Our Expat in the City today: Nefertiti Angelica
Who are you and where are you from? Since when are you in Munich? What do you do?
I am Nefertiti Angelica Strong and I am originally from Chicago (born) raised in Los Angeles California. A successful recording artist and actress turned director and producer.
When first came to Munich it was 2015 from New York City where I spent most of my adult life, went to college, did most of my recording with Universal records and meet my partner. Since my time in Munich I’ve started a production company with my partner Saskia Nathalie Betz Called Quintessence-Of-Culture. We do all sorts of creative productions from cultural events to weddings, she is a photographer and I a Director / Creative Producer.
In what way did Expat in the City connect and inspire you?
Expat in the city was one of the first fairs I attended in Munich, after being there I met my dentist and the cultural department for the city. It was very encouraging to see the vass amount of business that cater to expats, and on top the kindness of the event staff added to the multitude of information readily available, I realized in those moments I was welcome in Germany and the country was prepared for my arrival.
What would your advice be to expats in Munich?
I would strongly advise any one to attend the expat events it allows you to have a solid base of information and is a great start on the ever winding journey. Further, I would say continue to be curious and do not judge from one day to another you learn something new in Munich.
I love the English Garten it is one of the most amazing places to visit and unwind…
What does best define Munich for you?
The best definition of Munich for me is a metaphor of the city: being a windy road of unexpected vastness open adventurous and full of life.
