Is it possible to predict the outcome of the 2020 US Presidential Election?
Will Joe Biden become the 46th President of the United States? Or will President Trump win reelection? In this talk, we will explore the opinion polls and major issues that will be discussed in the lead up to the general election on 3 November 2020. The key policies proposed by President Trump and Democrat nominee Joe Biden will be analysed. There will also be a brief explanation of the unique US electoral system and why the opinion polls were wrong in 2016.
About the speaker
Lakkana Nanayakkara is doctoral candidate at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München. His expertise is in American politics and 20th century military operations. He is a New Zealand citizen. He has also lived in Sri Lanka, UK, USA and currently resides in Munich, Germany.
